ONTAPtv.com™ ADDS A HUGE COLLECTION OF NEW AND EXCITING LOCAL AFRICAN CONTENT

ONTAPtv.com™ partners with the Maxum Media Accelerator and ReelAfrican, and adds additional SABC content, to provide its customers with an ever greater selection of local South African entertainment content.
JOHANNESBURG – Thursday, November 05, 2015 – ONTAPtv.com™, the recently launched South African Video on Demand (VoD) service, today announced at Discop, the imminent release of new local South African content from the Maxum Media Accelerator (MMA) and ReelAfrican. This new and exciting content release adds to a growing list of African titles on ONTAPtv.com™, and is available within the R39pm* African ONTAPtv package.
The MMA, with the backing of Urban Brew Studios and The Innovation Hub, will provide locally-produced Mzansi content, and includes newly written and produced local movies that will be on the platform this year such as the comedy Debt at the Funeral, and great new dramas such as Second Chance, Frank Portrait, The Calling, River Zana, and with many more to follow in 2016. The MMA issupported by the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission and the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller to assist start-up media companies in the television and film industry.

ONTAPtv.com™ also announced that it has acquired 193-episodes of local South African drama series, movies, gospel music videos and documentaries from ReelAfrican, an aggregator of high-quality Pan-African entertainment. Exciting local dramas such as Jozi H, Love Games Season 1 and 2, Adera and A Soweto Love Story, and documentaries such as Alexandra Season 1, Miners Shot Down and Unhinged: Surviving Johannesburg, will be amongst the new titles available for download and streaming on ONTAPtv.com™ during November.

During the month of October, ONTAPtv.com™ also added a further 190 new SABC episodes to its launch catalogue. This included full seasons of highly popular drama comedy series such as: The Lab, 102 Paradise Complex, Malan en Kie, Konstenassie Oppie Stasie, Kompleks, and Mazinyo Dot Q; children’s entertainment including Bonisanani, Pula & Friends and Fun Factory; the Which Way, a cultural documentary tracing the journey of four young teenagers and their mentor seeking to explore South African history, and the Agatha Christie inspired The Man in the Brown Suit.
