We (DISCOP) take pride in the regions where we operate (Africa and Turkey) and we are genuinely interested and are fans of the creative work that comes from these regions and admire the people who create in theses locations. In the latest of DISCOP’s Travels, Vladimir Grayvoronskiy attended the Nollywood Week Film Festival in Paris, France at the Arlequin Cinema Theater that ran from June 5th to the 8th.
The Nollywood Week Film Festival was created as a way to increase awareness of the Nigerian film industry which is the second largest film producer in the world and is known as Nollywood. This event included a cocktail party/mixer, a panel discussion about women who work behind the scenes in Nollywood, a closing ceremony and of course film screenings. You can view the selection of films HERE.
Vladimir our Meetings Organization Manager was on site absorbing the rich creative work produced in Nigeria and meeting the creatives and industry movers that make an event like DISCOP Africa possible. We understand the importance of Nollywood to the country and to the content as a whole and are proud to provide a platform in DISCOP Africa as vehicle to help expand its reach. As a gesture of DISCOP’s appreciation, Vladimir offered a 50% discount to Nigerian producers who took part or attended the the film festival.
Mr. Serge-Armand Kouami Noukoue co-founded the 2nd edition of Nollywood Week Film Festival that drew a large public attendance along with French content producers and distributers such as DIFFA, THEMA and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris.
